Most baskets will feature cheeses, crackers, meat and fruit for the creation of toothsome snacks. Take into account the wine which comes with the majority of baskets and it’s easy to understand where their name comes from. And don’t worry if you’d rather have something on the sweeter side, as other options abound. So you love confections, isn’t it? Then again maybe you only want candy, or maybe they’re only portion of what you’d order – after all, everyone has their own tastes. And what are these treats, you may wish to know? Just as suitable for a sweet tooth are cakes, for example, and I guarantee that the choices will put a smile on the lips of the recipient. They also produce baskets tailored to people who favor the sweeter things but aren’t so keen on processed sugar. Such arrangements encompass gift boxes of fruit varieties like pears, tropical boxes, and baskets of cheese & fruit, so there’s something for everyone. You could instead send a spa hamper, boasting anything you might require for a long bath.

Don’t you think the holiday season deserves a specialized line? 1800Baskets.com feels that the answer is obvious. A selection of treats, mints, chocolates, crackers, trinkets, and more unusual delicious snacks are assembled in attractive boxes. The aesthetic ranges from more austere baskets appropriate for workmates to full-blown Santa Clauses your children are sure to love. Obviously, Christmas isn’t the only big date on your calendar, so you needn’t fret – you can also get deals connected to signing a contract, birthdays, anniversaries, closing a business deal, as well as other major events. Gift baskets from this business offer you even more ways to brighten your family’s day, anywhere in the world. Without having to leave your computer you can choose an order in the certainty that it will arrive at the end of its journey still pristine and in superior quality.

Many sober, law abiding people who would never dream of knowingly ingesting a mind- altering drug, actually consume one every daycaffeine!

Caffeine is so pervasive in our culture and in many other cultures that we often forget it is actually a drug that affects our brain. Caffeine is present in coffee, tea, many cola drinks and over the counter medications.

The most common way that most of us ingest caffeine is in the form of coffee. And some of us drink many cups of coffee in a day.

If you are one of those people who drinks a lot of coffee daily, you probably wonder what all that coffee is doing to you. Is coffee really bad for you, or is drinking coffee just a harmless vice? Can it be possible that coffee is actually good for us?

The research on coffee shows mixed results. Some studies show that drinking coffee increases the rate of heart attacks, while other studies have shown that drinking large amounts of coffee decreases the risk of diabetes.

There are nutritional advisers who claim that coffee makes us age faster, wears out our adrenal glands, and causes all sorts of untold damage to our cells.

Other researchers claim that coffee, especially if it’s freshly roasted and ground, is full of antioxidants, and therefore good for us. Most doctors say that drinking one or two cups of coffee a day is probably not harmful. And of course there are others who say we ought to avoid caffeine altogether.

The one thing that most researchers and most coffee drinkers agree on is that coffee can keep us awake at night and cause insomnia if we drink it late in the day.

Yet many of us drink coffee precisely because we want to boost up the activity of our brain cells, especially when we first wake up.

Many of us feel that we cannot really get going in the morning until we have had our first cup of coffee. We often continue to drink coffee throughout the day whenever our energy appears to be flagging and our brain seems to need additional help to think more clearly.

Does caffeine really enhance mental performance, or is that just a myth? Yes, caffeine does give a temporary boost to brain cells. But the amount required to improve mental performance is not very high. Even half a cup of coffee will be enough to give your brain a boost that lasts several hours.

Oddly enough, more caffeine is not necessarily better. In one test done when high-level executives were given the equivalent of fourteen cups of coffee in a day, they made their decisions faster, but the decisions were not of very good quality.

Not every person reacts to caffeine in the same way. Some people experience greater mental clarity, alertness and productivity after a cup of coffee. Other people become jittery, anxious, or depressed when they drink coffee. Although caffeine will keep most of us awake if taken at night, it does not have this effect in everyone.

In some older people, coffee or tea can improve memory and alertness enough to partly offset the effects of aging.

It is true that caffeine is mildly addicting for most people. Some people can quit using caffeine with absolutely no withdrawal symptoms, while others will feel headaches, fatigue, and experience cravings for caffeine for weeks.

Caffeine works by blocking one of the neurotransmitters–adenosinewhich normally tells brain cells to calm down. Brain cells that have been affected by caffeine will remain excited and on high alert for several hours.

The most noticeable negative effect of caffeine is that it can interfere with sleep. In most people, drinking coffee, tea or cola in the late afternoon or in the evening will cause insomnia.

If you are particularly affected by caffeine, you will find that the quantity and quality of your sleep will be greatly reduced. This can set off a vicious cycle, where you feel so tired all the next day that you drink a lot more coffee just to try to feel awake.

If this is happening to you, cut back on the amount of coffee you consume each day. You may experience fewer withdrawal symptoms if you cut down gradually. You may wish to substitute green tea for some of your cups of coffee. Green tea has some caffeine, but not as much as coffee.

Better yet, consider substituting exercise for some of those cups of coffee. If you can’t leave your workplace, at least get up from your chair periodically.

Do a few stretches, walk around a bit, and jump up and down a few times. Take some deep breaths. A little exercise break can revitalize your brain without giving you the caffeine jitters.

Remember that your brain won’t really benefit from more than one or two cups of coffee in a day.

H57 hoodia is a weight loss supplement that is the only pure hoodia gordonii diet pill on the market today. H57 hoodia comes straight from South Africa, the only place real hoodia is available. Other companies that claim to sell pure hoodia are getting their hoodia from countries such as China and Mexico. The sales from H57’s hoodia directly benefit the San bushmen tribes that have used hoodia for thousands of years to suppress hunger.

There are lots of different kinds of hoodia that grow in the wild, however
only hoodia gordonii possesses appetite suppressing qualities. Hoodia
gordonii is a spiky succulent that looks like a cactus, growing up to around
18 inches in height and sporting large, odorous blooms.

Hoodia gordonii works on the part of the brain that controls feelings of
hunger. In simple terms, H57 hoodia makes your brain think you’re full,
even if you’re not.

H57 hoodia also contains cinnamon bark and green tea extracts that help
speed your body’s metabolism and burn fat more quickly.

Cinnamon bark extract works to support the digestion and encourage healthy
blood sugar levels. Cinnamon also contains powerful flavonoids, a kind of
antioxidant. And, regular use of cinnamon can speed the weight loss
process and encourage healthy cholesterol.

Green tea has been touted recently for it’s antioxidant properties. The
antioxidants in green tea help destroy harmful free radicals that can cause
various diseases such as cancer. Many weight loss products available today
contain green tea, as it has also been shown to have metabolism increasing
qualities.

H57 hoodia is affordable, offering savings to customers that buy in bulk.
H57 hoodia also comes with an unconditional money-back guarantee. That
means you have nothing to lose but unwanted pounds!

Combining H57 hoodia with a smart diet and exercise plan can dramatically
increase your chance of weight loss success.

First things first, what is ginkgo biloba? This tree has been considered as one of the tree species considered as among the living oldest tree as it has existed for over two hundred million years.

Who first used ginkgo biloba?

It has been recorded that it was the Chinese who first used ginkgo biloba for the treatment of numerous ailments and disease such as asthma, congestion of the lungs and even increasing one’s sexual prowess and helps in regulating one’s blood. After which, it was then introduced in Europe during the 1700’s.

Currently, it is being used in every part of the world and is now considered as an herb that is researched the most.

Why use ginkgo biloba?

Gingko biloba also helps control cholesterol and how it is transformed. It avoids the build-up of plaque in the heart, this is regularly associated with the hardening of the arteries.

Believe it or not, gingko biloba has also been used as an effective herb against infertility or impotence in males.

We all know that a diet of food rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients is essential to our health and well being. Yet you tried a nutritional supplement that did little for you despite a friend’s or salesperson’s enthusiastic recommendation. Then scientific studies conclude supplementation has no benefit or could even be harmful. No wonder you may be confused! By following a few simple rules, you can choose nutritional supplements that can help maintain and improve your health.

1. Make sure the supplement is in the right form. Many vitamin makers take short cuts to keep production costs low. Inorganic forms such as magnesium oxide or calcium carbonate are difficult to absorb. Most people don’t benefit from them. Organic forms such as calcium ascorbate are well absorbed because they are similar to vitamins in our food. They are also large molecules that do not fit in a small tablet. The daily dose of a good multivitamin requires more than one pill.

2. You need more than one form of some vitamins. Many makers use a single form, again as a short cut. The vitamins in our food come in many forms, and each of these forms performs different functions in our body. So instead of beta-carotene, look for mixed carotenoids. Instead of the succinate or acetate forms of vitamin E, also called tocopherol, look for natural mixed tocopherols.

3. Make sure the dosage is high enough to make a difference. If your supplement contains the U.S.RDA or less, it will likely make little difference in your health. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) amounts prevent deficiency diseases such as scurvy from lack of vitamin C, according to the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council. The RDAs do not define the optimal intake for an individual. There is a growing body of research showing that optimal intake for many nutrients, especially antioxidant nutrients such as vitamins C, E, beta-carotene and selenium may be much higher than their current RDA. In their 1989 report, the Food and Nutrition Board stated that the RDAs do not apply to individuals with “unusual stressors.” These stressors often include prescription drug use, the habits mentioned below and chronic illness.

4. Don’t expect supplements to make up for bad habits. Smoking, processed food, carbonated beverages, caffeine, alcohol, and antacid consumption are just a few habits that deplete you of vitamins and minerals or make it difficult for you to absorb them. Work on stopping these habits instead.

5. Make sure you can utilize the supplement. Some people with health problems cannot absorb or utilize even the best vitamin and mineral supplements. Homeopathic, herbal or other support may be needed. If you think this may be your case, a practitioner skilled in these areas may be able to help.

6. Don’t cherry pick. Taking only one or two single vitamins or minerals can be harmful, as was found in the 1996 Beta-Carotene and Retinal Efficacy Trial (CARET). This study was stopped early because the researchers determined that a synthetic form of beta-carotene increased the incidence of lung cancer in smokers. If you apply our rules to the above study, you will see potential reasons for the bad outcome. Instead of mixed carotenoids, they used a poorly absorbed form of beta-carotene that is also known to block the absorption of carotenoids from food. They also used only one vitamin in isolation. Beta-carotene in the doses used in the study becomes a free-radical, unless vitamins C and E are present to neutralize it.

Free radicals are molecules that damage cellular structures, including DNA, which can lead to cancer. Everyone, even healthy people, have free radicals. Your body constantly neutralizes them to keep you healthy. Smoking generates free-radicals. So giving the smokers beta-carotene alone only increased their free radical load above and beyond that already produced by smoking, and put them at greater risk for cancer. This study reinforces the rule that supplementation cannot make up for bad habits. Not smoking remains the most effective way to prevent lung cancer.

Studies suggest that a good supplement regimen includes a quality multivitamin supplement, flax seed oil, additional vitamin C and an antioxidant formula. Beyond this, seek the assistance of a practitioner skilled in nutritional medicine.

A fat burner supplement operates by breaking down body fat through a principle of thermo genesis. The ability to stimulate the thyroid into action and raise body temperature is achieved by taking a fat burner product.

A natural fat burner increases the metabolism rate while fat cells are mobilised and inhibited from enlarging. Any stored body fats are burned and utilised as energy by the fat burner. Physically active individuals find fat burner products very effective in reaching and maintaining a goal weight.

There is ongoing debate concerning whether using a fat burner is safe or not. Much fat burner research is being done with regard to health and safety. There are now several natural fat burner products available.

Emerging reports on fat burner products indicate that caution should be used when choosing a fat burner. Avoid fat burners, which contain ephedrine as it can become addictive. Also known as ma huang, the ephedrine included in a fat burner product is a Chinese herb renowned for increasing energy levels.

Ephedrine is also used to treat asthma, and helps with weight loss when included in a fat burner supplement. In order to enhance the effectiveness of ephedrine it is often combined in a fat burner with caffeine, aspirin or other ingredients.

Unfortunately, the side effects of ephedrine often outweigh its actual usefulness. Side effects of ephedrine range from mildly unpleasant headaches through to more serious heart palpitations, seizures and even death. A report issued by the FDA estimates that at least 58 ephedrine-associated deaths have occurred since 1993. Fortunately, many of the fat burner products no longer include ephedrine in their ingredients. Any fat burner should be used responsibly and a natural fat burner must be used with your doctor’s knowledge if you have any medical problems.

Due to the FDA approved Dietary Supplement Act of 1994, dietary supplements and fat burner products have been allowed to be marketed without mandatory safety or effectiveness testing. When considering the safety issue concerning a fat burner caution should be the watchword.

Choose a natural fat burner product, which has been tested and proven to be a safe and natural fat burner. Bear in mind that not all individuals using a fat burner will experience the same weight loss speed from a fat burner. Fat burning could be quicker for some individuals taking a fat burner than for others.

For maximum fat burner safety, always use a natural fat burner as directed and do not take too much in the hope of a quicker weight loss. Because many fat burners contain caffeine or other stimulants this could have adverse effects when you take too many. While initially you might feel energetic when using a fat burner, taking too much is unhealthy and will leave you feeling physically drained at the very least. When taken for short time periods many natural fat burners are safe.

Millions of people worldwide have experienced positive fat burner results. A fat burner will provide the most benefits when taken as part of a healthy lifestyle. Include balanced eating habits and exercise when taking a fat burner for optimum weight management. Essentially a fat burner is a supplement and should be used as one, to supplement a healthy lifestyle and enhance it through weight control.

Throughout my childhood I was aware of the importance of eating well and taking my vitamins. But the science of dietary supplements has come a long way since those days. And one of the stars in this scientific progression is Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is not a drug. It is a vitamin-like substance that is found in small amounts in a variety of foods and is synthesized within our body tissues.

Enzymes are compounds in the body that are absolutely essential for the many processes necessary to keep us alive and our bodies functioning properly. Mitochondrial enzymes are those particular enzymes that are essential for the production of the high-energy phosphate ATP (adenosine triphosphate) upon which all cellular function depends. Without it our bodies shut down at the cellular level. Coenzyme Q10 is the cofactor upon which at least three mitochondrial enzymes depend. By logical inference then ATP functioning depends upon CoQ10. In short, all human cellular function depends on ATP. And ATP function depends on CoQ10.

As was already said, the production of CoQ10 occurs within our body tissues. Its biosynthesis from the amino acid tyrosine is a complex multistage process requiring several vitamins and trace elements. Under normal conditions we produce all we need while we are young. But there are many factors that can contribute to CoQ10 deficiency. Among these are aging, disease, dietary deficiency, use of statin drugs and increasing tissue demands. Before we get to CoQ10 deficiencies, however, it is well to look at the history of CoQ10 research.

History

CoQ10 was first isolated by Dr. Frederick Crane in 1957 from the mitochondria of beef heart. During that same year Professor Morton, from Britain, also discovered CoQ10 in the livers of vitamin A deficient rats. During the following year researchers at Merck, Inc. determined its chemical structure and became the first to produce it.

It was neither the British nor the Americans that first found a practical use for the CoQ compounds. Professor Yamamura from Japan first used a related compound (CoQ7) in the treatment of congestive heart failure. Other practical uses then followed. CoQ6 was used as an effective antioxidant in the mid 1960s. In 1972 (in Italy) deficiency of CoQ10 was linked to heart disease. The Japanese, however, were the first to perfect the technology necessary to produce CoQ10 in sizeable enough quantities to make large clinical trials a reality.

After Peter Mitchell won the Nobel Prize in 1978 for defining the biological energy transfer that occurs at the cellular level (for which CoQ10 is essential) there was a considerable increase in the number of clinical studies performed in relation to CoQ10 usefulness. This was due in part to the large amounts of pharmaceutical grade CoQ10 that was now available from Japan and the ability to measure CoQ10 in blood and body tissues. CoQ10 since has become known for its importance as a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger and as a treatment in many chronic illnesses, especially heart disease.

Coenzyme Q10 Deficiency

The usefulness of CoQ10 as a medical treatment has largely been approached from the perspective that when a chronic disease is present (especially in the case of heart disease) CoQ10 is often grossly deficient. For example, a person suffering from congestive heart failure often demonstrates extreme CoQ10 deficiency. Normal blood and tissue levels of CoQ10 have been well established. Significantly low levels of CoQ10 have been linked to a vast variety of diseases in both animal and human studies.

But if CoQ10 is biosynthesized in our bodies why do we often suffer from deficiency? There are at least three causes. The first is an insufficient diet. Dietary intake of CoQ10 is an important factor in total blood and tissue levels of the compound. If we do not consume enough of the foods that contain CoQ10 then the body must make up the difference. Further, the biosynthesis of Coenzyme Q10 is a complex 17-step process involving a whole string of B vitamins, vitamin C and pantothenic acid. Diets deficient in these compounds make CoQ10 synthesis impossible. This is not the place to discuss the condition of the average diet and the vitamin deficient nature of many of our food sources. Suffice it to say that most of us do not get nearly enough CoQ10 or the other vitamins necessary for optimal synthesis.

The second cause of deficiency is linked to the first, and that is impairment of CoQ10 biosynthesis. In addition to inadequate intakes of the compounds necessary to make CoQ10 there are other biological reasons for inadequate production of it. These might include physiological conditions and chronic diseases that cause failure in production. The treatments of diseases can also be a factor. For instance the use of statins to control cholesterol levels has been implicated in the depletion of CoQ10 levels. The catch-22 is, in treating heart disease we use drugs that deplete natural compounds that in turn are necessary to fight heart disease.

The third cause of CoQ10 deficiency is excessive use of the compound by the body. This again can be related to medications, aging or other causes such as excessive exertion, hypermetabolism, and acute shock states.

The real cause of CoQ10 deficiency is usually a combination of these three influences. It is likely that the average CoQ10 levels which have been observed in humans are suboptimal. In other words, the normal levels of CoQ10 that have become the standard for comparisons are very likely less than optimal. That would mean that the extremely low levels observed in connection with chronic diseases are just the worse case scenarios and that other less serious maladies are connected with lesser levels of deficiency.

If this sounds too much like laboratory theory, it isnt. Patients who suffer from chronic diseases and also demonstrate extreme low levels of CoQ10 are not laboratory specimens. They are people who, in many cases, have been greatly helped by CoQ10 supplementation. If chronic disease is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to CoQ10 deficiency one is forced to wonder what better diets and CoQ10 supplementing could do for the eradication of diseases and other chronic conditions.

HRT stands for hormone replacement therapy. Hormone replacement therapy aim is to restore oestrogen levels to a normal pre-menopausal state for menopausal women suffering from the signs and symptoms of oestrogen deficiency and it also postpones other consequences such as coronary heart disease and osteoporosis.

Hot flushes, profuse sweating especially at night, anxiety, feeling of suffocation, hot hands and feet, dizziness and faintness, headaches, backaches, irritability, an increase or lack of interest in sex, constipation, an increase in weight, depression and insomnia are all symptoms of the menopause.

Hormone replacement therapy has been linked with cancer of the uterus and women with kidney problems, headaches, migraines, asthma, heart disease, benign breast cysts, epilepsy and diabetes should not take Hormone replacement therapy. Hormone replacement therapy also restarts the menstrual cycle.

Many women do not want to take hormone replacement therapy because of the problems associated with it. The side effects of taking HRT by mouth can be nausea, abdominal cramps, vomiting and bloating. HRT patches can cause blistering, discoloration of the skin and hyperaemia. Studies in HRT have associated the prescription of HRT with an increase chance of developing breast cancer and cancer of the uterus.

To combat the symptoms and health problems associated with the menopause keep meals simple, eat little and often, avoid processed and refined foods, keep to natural whole foods such as fruit and vegetable, consume plenty of fibre, cut down on fat, wheat, rhubarb chocolate, eat plenty of calcium rich food such as Soya beans, sardines, turnips, peanuts, salmon, walnuts, sunflower seeds, dried beans and green vegetables, eat plenty of vitamin D foods such as sardines, herring, salmon, tuna, fish liver oils, liver and eggs will be beneficial and eat plenty of Soya products such as tofu, Soya milk, tempeh. Increase exercise, try to mineralise stress by relaxation methods such as yoga and meditation and try to give up smoking.

Phytoestrol and evening primrose oil are both good supplements to help with the symptoms of the menopause. Phytoestrol offers the benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) but without the associated risks. It is a natural product made from potent plant hormones that mimic oestrogen. Evening primrose oil can help with pre-menstrual syndrome by reducing sugar cravings, low moods and emotional symptoms, breast tenderness and swelling. Evening primrose oil contains hormone-building blocks that can aid in the balancing of hormones.

The following supplements may help if you are suffering from HRT.

Bone mineral complex
Boron
Copper
Evening primrose oil
Fish Oil
Flaxseed oil
Folic Acid
Magnesium
Manganese
Multivitamin and multiminerals
Silica
Soya
Strontium
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B6
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
Vitamin K
Zinc

Many diabetics are searching for a natural supplement that they can add to their diet that can help improve their quality of life, and naturally help to produce their own body’s insulin. While diet and exercise, and an overall healthy lifestyle, can help dramatically improve a diabetic’s quality of life and health, there are other ways they can help their body stimulate it’s own production of the necessary and vital hormone insulin.

What is diabetes, how is it caused, and how can people help to reduce the symptoms of diabetes by stabilizing their blood sugar naturally?

Diabetes is a specific health condition where the level of glucose in the blood is too high. Insulin, a hormone vital to the general health and movement of the human body, is necessary for glucose to enter the cells and become useful there as a hormonal stabilizer, and controller of necessary bodily functions.

Diabetes results when the beta cells in the pancreas either fail to produce insulin or produce too little or where the cells are unable to respond properly to insulin. Ignoring diabetes can prove very life threatening.

If diabetes goes untreated, it can lead to consequences ranging from high blood pressure and cholesterol, to impotence, blindness, heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure and amputation of the legs or feet due to failed circulation in the extreme, and, ultimately, death.

Why a Natural Supplement to Control Diabetes?

Natural supplements for diabetes work in a couple of ways. There are actually several ingredients found in nature, that when combined in the proper amounts and dosages, really have a positive impact on natural insulin production.

Prescription medications that are traditionally used to control diabetes and stabilize blood sugar have some rather unsavory side effects such as diarrhea, liver damage and hypoglycemia.

There are no known side effects to natural remedies used to stimulate the body’s own natural insulin production. Many people also just feel better knowing they are using a 100% natural product rather than putting foreign substances in their body to produce the correct amounts of insulin in order that their bodies and vital organs may function properly.

Many of the ingredients found in nature that help the body to stabilize and maintain healthy blood sugar levels also have a positive effect on other areas severely affected by blood sugar irregularities, such as eyesight and weight control.
